Overview
The Draw is built local-first: your profile, journal, and Wish balance live on your device by default, and no account is required to use the app.
This policy describes what information The Draw collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 2026-08-24.
What's stored on your device
- Your birth date, and optionally birth time and birth place, used to calculate your sun, moon, and (if provided) rising sign.
- Journal entries: saved readings, including the category and any question you typed in.
- Your Wish balance and history of how it was earned or spent.
None of this leaves your device unless you turn on cloud backup, described below.
Cloud backup (optional)
Cloud backup is off by default. Turning it on lets your data follow you to a new device without a full account signup.
If you enable it, the same information described above — profile, journal entries, and Wish balance — is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) and associated with the email address you send yourself a sync link to. You can stop syncing at any time; existing local data on your device is unaffected.
What's sent to generate a reading
When a reading calls the AI, only what's needed for that one reading is sent — nothing is sent for offline-mode readings.
For a personalized reading, we send the card(s) drawn, your chart details (sun/moon, and rising if you've added it), the category you picked, and your question if you typed one, to our reading proxy, which forwards it to Anthropic (the maker of the Claude models we use) to generate the reading text. This data is used only to produce that one response — it is not used to train models and is not retained by us beyond what's needed to serve the request and to guard against abuse (rate limiting).
A "read for someone else" reading sends your relationship to that person, the category, and your question about them — never any identifying information about the third party, because none is collected in the first place.
Offline mode skips all of this: it falls back to each card's general meaning plus your own zodiac sign, entirely on-device, with nothing sent anywhere.
What we don't collect
- No third-party advertising trackers beyond what's required to serve a rewarded ad you choose to watch.
- No sale of personal data to third parties.
- No information about anyone you read for "someone else" — that flow is designed to collect nothing about them at all.
Your choices
- Use the app fully offline and never send anything beyond your device.
- If you've turned on cloud backup, delete your account at any time from Settings → Cloud backup → Delete my account — this permanently removes your synced data, no need to contact us.
- Delete the app to remove local-only data (anything not backed up to the cloud).
- Turn cloud backup off at any time.
- Request a copy of your synced data — including your full Wish transaction history and saved readings — by emailing thedrawtarot@gmail.com from the address your account is registered under. We reply within 30 days, usually sooner. (This applies only if you've turned on cloud backup; local-only data never leaves your device for us to send.)
